Critic Rex Reed, Admits, "I'm too old to properly assess any more
adventure"
In The New York Observer, Rex Reed pans Goblet of Fire, first complaining that the movie is "entirely too long for adults and out of the question for children,"
despite the fact that it is only five minutes longer than the first Harry Potter film. Reed goes on to say that GoF is
"so pretentious, convoluted and confusing that grown men were standing around in groups after it ended,
asking, "Did you understand it?" Worst of all, this movie is so violent, you'd have to be a sadist to send children off to
watch the ghastly things that Harry is subjected to here. Stabbed, burned, beaten and tortured, with corpses piling up around
him in every scene, Harry never sustains a bruise and never breaks his glasses, but still."
The New Phelps Interview
The Ball State Daily News is running this interview with James and Oliver Phelps, who have protrayed the Weasley
twins in the first four HP films, and here confirm that they are on board for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
(Let's all hope their grand exit scene is given its due in this film!) The interview also gives us an idea of how the
twins spend their time when they are not filming, including working behind the scenes on the film adaptation of The Da Vinci Code
Record Haul for GOF
The BBC reports this morning that Goblet of Fire opened to phenomenal box office numbers
in the US, the UK and around the world, as it was number one in all 21 countries where it opened, according to Warner Brothers.
Newsround reports in the UK alone, it took in over £14.9m of tickets,
making it the biggest ever opening weekend for a film in the UK, as well as the biggest takings ever each of the individual
days.

USAToday Notes Praise for GOF
USAToday has compiled comments from HP fans, with a focus on praise for the special effects and performances in
the film. They also compare GoF with other 'fourth films" in serieses, like The Phantom Menace. "There was a lot of built-up
anticipation for another Star Wars," says says Brandon Gray of Box Office Mojo. "Potter is an uninterrupted series, and the
movies don't even come that far apart. People are growing up with Harry Potter, and they're turning out to see what happens
next to him."

GOF Set Threat: Putting Wild Speculation
to Rest
Some of you may have read at other websites a linked
article which has been published online regarding a threat on the film set of GOF. The statement will put your minds at ease
and shed to light how the article is a little far-fetched, but on the other hand, know that Warner Brothers does take incidents
like these very seriously.
"As with all responsible companies we take the well
being of those within our employment, particularly children, very seriously and have always enforced rigorous health and safety
practices. We have in the past received the odd hoax telephone call, but because of our strict security policies we always
report these incidents no matter how seemingly trivial, to the relevant authorities. In this case as with previous hoax calls,
no further action has been taken nor will be required."

New
POA Pics Thanks
to TLC, the LA Times has posted some new pictures from Prisoner of Azkaban to support an article called "Teen
Angst At Hogwarts."
Dan Radcliffe on Harry:
"There's a lot of teenage angst in this one,
probably more than the book...It's much more of an internal journey for the children, especially for Harry. And he's much
more comfortable with confrontation, especially with [Professor Severus] Snape. He's a lot angrier. If you had all this stuff
happening to you in real life, you'd be pretty angry too."
Which
personalities will make waves in 2004? INQ7.net's fans say that Daniel Radcliffe will! They asked their fans to look into their own crystal balls regarding who will make waves this year.
Here's what they said about Dan:
"Tom Cruise because of the buzz created
by "The Last Samurai," Britney Spears because-and many people will raise their arms in protest-she might indeed be the next
Madonna, Nicole Kidman and Renee Zelwegger because of "Cold Mountain" and Daniel Radcliffe because he looks so handsome
in the new "Harry Potter" movie." -- Jet Valle, ageless!
Xpose Magazine #82 Dec/Jan
03 Article
A new Harry Potter article in the newest Xpose
Magazine. The article talks more about the books and is called "The Ancesters of Harry Potter." Here is an excerpt:
"Harry Potter might be a publishing phenomenon,
but the books didn't come out of nowhere. Ben Woodhams looks at the magical adventures that preceded the exploits of the boy
wizard..."
The scan includes the above article, along with
a scan of Dan, Emma, and Rupert (picture we've seen before).
"It always feels good working with Emma Watson,
Rupert Grint, Tom Felton, and Matthew Lewis. We have become very good friends and as now this is the third film we have made
together our relationships just get stronger."
The article talks about Honeydukes, as well
as the Great Hall scene where Harry receives his new broom. They also chat a bit with the film's stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma
Watson, and Rupert Grint.
Here is an excerpt:
Well-humored and still motivated for being on
a production this big, Daniel Radcliffe runs over his words, completes the lines of his co-workers Emma Watson and Rupert
Grint, and shows that he looks more like his character than was possible to imagine. "It´s all a great joy," says the young
actor, before he confirms that he is getting ready to work in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the fourth adventure that
is going to be directed by Mike Newell. "I love Harry, Im not in a career far from him," he says. "If I make all the movies
of all the books, Im still going to be a teenager, and Im going to be just starting."
Chicago Sun Times
Article "Ready for their Closeups"
The Chicago Sun Times online has a "snippet" regarding Dan "The Boy Wonder" on "who will score in 2004." Here's what they have
to say:
THE BOY WONDER: Just in case you're having Hogwarts
withdrawal, it's now less than six months until Harry Potter and pals return for their third-year wizarding. Daniel Radcliffe
is back as the Muggle minder in "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban," in which he deals with renegade wizard Sirius
Black. We hear that he's been allowed to age like a real kid under the new direction of Alfonso Cuaron.

The Regis & Kelly Relly Awards Episode
will re-air this Wednesday, December 31, 2003 which declared Dan as the winner of the "Junior Achiever" Relly Award. Check
your local listings for air times and channels. If you can't see the show where he was interviewed on the set of Prisoner
of Azkaban accepting the award, you can always watch the video we have below from the day it originally aired:
The BAFTA Tribute to Julie Walters
aired on BBC One this evening at 8:30pm and in attendance were Dan Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint. I took the liberty
of creating some screenshots for you from the show I taped. Somehow I think the very bottom picture will become a true "classic!"
Confirmation of Dan NOT being cast for OOTP
It was confirmed for me this morning
that Dan has NOT yet been cast for Order of the Phoenix and this is truly just a rumor. It is way too early to be thinking
about the fifth film and they are really concentrating on the fourth film, and completing the third! No one is in discussion
or negotiation for the fifth film at this time.
Dan Nominated for 2003 K-Zone Kid Awards
Dan has been nominated for a 2003 K-Zone Kids Award in the "Favorite Actor" Category. To vote for Dan, you will need to register with K-Zone which is free.

Dan on Access Hollywood HPANA has a small set of quotes from a surprise set report from the Prisoner of Azkaban which was aired on
Access Hollywood last night. Here's what they had to say:
Are
you ready to rekindle the magic? Daniel: I never actually think of the fact that, yeah, millions of people have
seen me grown up from the movies.
[All three Potter stars are full-fledged teenagers
and you can see and hear the difference. (Pics of the three from SS NY Premiere, then pics from PoA, all smiling.)]
(Shows scene from SS: Ron's line, Sunshine,
daisies, buttermellow ..)
Rupert: (With a freaking adorable smile) My
voice hadn't broken then, and now, it's pretty low.
Hospital wing scene from PoA, showing Ron on
the bed:
Ron: It was Scabbers who did it. Dumbledore:
Scabbers? Ron: My rat, Sir.
Daniel: Who's grown the most? Rupert, without
a shadow of a doubt.
Rupert: Yes, it's weird, it's really weird,
and I don't feel that I've really changed, but when I look back at the other films, I was tiny.
[Shows chorus singing. Harry and Hermione opening
a door ... Pat saying the most difficult thing was replacing the late Richard Harris.]
Quick scene:
Dumbledore: Good luck.
Michael Gambon: I started using an Irish accent,
so the director said, "What was that you were doing?" And I don't suppose Richard was Irish.
Thanks HPANA!
Here I'll include some of the juicier stuff I hear. No guarantee of the accuracy of what you read in this column!
