MTV TRL Show, October 22, 2002

Quddus: Live from MTV Studios, New York City Fans of the Harry Potter books and film were going nuts down in the street below the MTV Studios today. Most were dressed in wizard garbsparkly, pointed hats; capes and the likeand many were holding handmade signs, proclaiming their unending love for one of TRLs guests today, Daniel Radcliffe. TRL invited some lucky fans up to the studios to see Dan in person, and once it was realized that this was NOT a joke, a mad, screaming stampede ensued up to the studio.

Quddus: Time for my next guest, hes a shy guy from across the ocean, but you probably know him as Harry Potter. Give it up for Daniel Radcliffe! What she give ya there? Oh, Happy Valentines Day!
Dan: Thank you!
Quddus: You got a lot of fans here, man. Its kinda cool being a movie star, isnt it?
Daniel: Yeah!
Quddus: You want to come up to the window, you got a lot of fans down there, check it out!
Daniel: WHOA!!
Quddus:Hes taking it in, look at him! All right, dude, thats amazing, isnt it?
Daniel: Weird! So cool!
Quddus:Welcome back to TRL!Thank you! The last time you were here was when Harry Potter was about to come out, the first flick.
Daniel: Yeah.
Quddus: How has life changed for you since then?
Daniel: Its changed kind of surprisingly little. I get recognized on the street sometimes, and thats fun because theyre always enthusiastic about the movie, so its really cool.
Quddus: And they also ask you for autographs.
Daniel: Yeah, I dont mind that. Except my names too long.
Quddus: Your names too long? Your wrist gets a little sore, huh?
Daniel: Yeah.
Quddus: Thats cool, dude. And you literally turned around and shot the second flick right after the first, right?
Daniel: Yeah, three days after the movie opened, we started the second one which was kind of good because I was still in my characters frame of mind, which was good.
Quddus: And what do you do to relax? Like in between those three days when you didnt have to show?
Daniel: I kind of locked myself in a very small room and kind of watched films and listened to music constantly, which was cool.
Quddus: Okay, were gonna to have a look at the new movie in a second, were gonna have a clip, but were gonna get into this video first. I dont know if youre an Eminem fan?
Daniel: Yeah!
Quddus: You are, cool. Okay, Lose Yourself is what were about to get into, and then were gonna chat some more with the Man Daniel, right after this video, check it out. Okay, now lets chat about this movie, man. The last time we saw Harry he was just getting into the wizard school, and this time around whats he doing?
Daniel: He gets back to Hogwarts and he finds out that something really bads happening there, and then he starts to hear voices, so he gets pretty screwed up.
Quddus: So your characters gone crazy?
Daniel: Yeah, pretty much, for bits of the film. And he kind of has to track down this potential killer before it kind of wipes out the school.
Quddus: Okay, cool. Actually, I got a chance to check out the flick, and it is a great film.
Daniel: Oh, cool.
Quddus: And your character doesnt really get crazy, what hes getting is really real. Like the effects in the flick are great, man, and I know theres one scene where you actually have that game going onyou gotta pronounce that for me.
Daniel: Quidditch.
Quddus: Quidditch, yeah. And tell me what its like to do the acting with all these effects happening and you have to, like, act to Dobby which was a little guy whos probably not even there. What was that like for you, because, youre a new actor.
Daniel: Its really kind of hard at first, because all thats there is an orange ball on a stick for Dobby, because hes so animated and hes jumping around all the time, Ive got to try and keep up with him. But eventually, it was made really easy by everybody around me, so I kind of got into it at the end.
Quddus: Very cool. All right, well, do you have any idea about this clip were about to check out?
Daniel: Yes, I think so, yeah.
Quddus: Coolcool. Okay, lets get into it. Cool.
Quddus: That was a clip right there from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. They have four books on Harry Potter that are out right now, and theres talk about a couple more coming out, right?
Daniel: Yeah.
Quddus: And if there were films to accompany those, would you be down to still play the role of Harry Potter? Or is this kind of gonna be played out for you?
Daniel: I mean, it takes upwell, first of all I dont know what would happen, but they take like 10 months. Im definitely doing the third one, and then after that, Ive got quite a while to decide I guess, so I dont know yet.
Quddus: Cool. Well at least we can check you in this new flick and lets do this fifteen-second trailerOkay, cool!
Quddus: Its where you and the audience get to just bond on the topic of this movie and you get to convince the folk at home why they should check it out.
Daniel: Okay, cool!
Quddus: Fifteen seconds. Ready? Hit it!
Daniel: Okay, well, its a great movie because its exactly like the book, if you like the book, youll like the film. Its much darker, its a lot more edgy, its funnier because youve got people like Ken Branagh whos like really funny as Gilderoy Lockhart. Its got spiders, so its really scary if you like scary films, its great. Okay! Cool!
Quddus: You did a great job, man, thanks so much for stopping by. Definitely check for the flick, its gonna be out November 15th, so check for that!
