Oprah: Please welcome Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe!
Dan: Im so nervous!"
Oprah: Youll like this, Daniel!
Oprah: Daniel, I understand that you said that playing Harry Potter this time was more difficult and more challenging. It was because Harry is a completely different character. As someone said before, the first one is an introduction film and you're setting up who he is. In the second film, his character undergoes a lot of changes and so he changes as a person as well. You were saying all the car scenes were fun?
Dan: It was so cool!
Oprah: What were your favorite scenes in the movie?
Dan: I love the clip of the dueling scene because there were so many people. I love all the scenes where there were loads of crowds.
Oprah: How have you changed since the first film? I noticed when we started that your voice has lowered just a little bit. Are you worried about it going lower and lower?
Dan: The good thing about when my voice broke was that it didn't actually go up and down, "EEE...errrr...", that kind of thing, it just went from one to the other immediately.
Oprah: Do you wake up sometimes and wonder if it'll get even lower?
Dan: I think it would be cool if it was lower, actually!
Oprah: And what other challenges were there for you in this film as opposed to the first one?
Dan: I think because Harry becomes very isolated in this film and his friends completely alienate him and leave him out because they think he's been killing people basically, it's quite hard to actually do that and still enjoy yourself at the same time without getting too close together.
Oprah: You've said that you and Harry Potter are somewhat similar.
Dan: We're both very loyal to our friends. I think friendship means a lot to both of us and is so important to both of us. I also think we're both very curious and we don't break the rules, we just kind of bend them.
Oprah: How did your life change since this happened to you?
Dan: It's changed surprisingly little. Mainly I just get recognized and stopped on the street sometimes.
Oprah: Isn't it true that 20 minutes after it was announced that you were going to play Harry Potter, photographers were outside your house?
Dan: I know, they set up camp for 48 hours!

Oprah: Please welcome Rupert Grint and Emma Watson.

Oprah: So, do you guys ever see each other when you're not working?
Dan: I think Emma had enough of me by the end of the week!
Emma: There isn't much time off except at weekends but we see each other tons on set.
Oprah: You give better scared expressions than anyone Ive seen. You stay scared a lot, Rupert, constant state!
Rupert: Yeah.
Oprah: Daniel said that the whomping willow scene was one of your favorites.
Rupert: Yeah, it was like being on a theme park ride! Really cool. Wicked!
Oprah: What did you think of the Chamber of Secrets?
Emma: I really, really liked it. Much better than the first one.
Oprah: You all get up at what time in the morning and work till what time at night? Emma: It really does vary, theres never any set time or anything.
Oprah: I was asking Dan how his life has changed. How has your life changed?
Emma: I get noticed on the street and Im away from home a lot more, but apart from that, Im trying to keep as normal as possible.
Oprah: Your friends are happy for you?
Emma: Yeah, theyve been really, really nice about it.
Oprah: And you?
Rupert: Oh yeah, Ive been back to school recently, and some of the teachers suck up a bit.
Oprah: And how do they do that?
Rupert: I dunno, well, I get out of detention sometimes. Thats it, really. I still have to do my homework!

(Oprah and the kids talk about the slug props and Rupert pulled out a bag of slugs)

Rupert: They taste really nice! This ones lemon.
Oprah: Who was it that said in the spider scene you didnt even have to act?
Rupert: I hate spiders! Even, like, rubber ones Im really scared of, so that scene wasnt my favorite one.
Oprah: We heard that Emmas character Hermione has a crush in this movie!
Emma: Crush? Its more like a heartthrob!
Oprah: Played by Kenneth Branagh. Nice having a crush, isnt it?
Emma: Yes!
Oprah: When you saw the movie a couple of weeks ago, were you laughing or was it scary or, because you know all the secrets, was it still as entertaining for you?
Dan: Because you haven't actually seen any of the special effects while you're there, it's great to see how they all turned out. To see Dobby, because that was, like, an orange ball on a stick where Dobby was. When you actually see it, its just really amazing!
Oprah: So Dobby for youhe was an orange ball on a stick?
Dan: Yeah, and its kind of difficult to knowwith an orange ball on a stickwhat facial expressions to make.
Oprah: You did so well, to be acting with an orange ball on a stick!
Oprah: So when you saw the movie, that was your first time seeing Dobby?
Dan: Yeah!

(Oprah introduces regular guest, Mattie Stepanek, a 12-year-old boy confined to a wheelchair. Mattie is a huge Harry Potter fan and is penpals with author J.K. Rowling. Mattie is also a published author)

Dan: Really nice to meet you, I thought your book was amazing!

(Dan presents Mattie with his own Hogwarts acceptance letter and a wand from the set)

Dan: This is one of the wands from the set.
Mattie: Thank you!
Dan: Youre very welcome.

Audience: Did you guys read the books before you got the jobs?
Dan: I loved the books! I read the first two booksI hadnt actually got on to the third one yet, but I loved the first two so much, I thought they were amazing!
Emma: I was, like, in the middle of the third one when I started auditioning, and by the time I got the part, I had finished the whole collection. I was a fan.
Rupert: I was a big fan of the books before I even auditioned, and Ron was my favorite character, yeah!
Oprah: Did you ever think of yourself as playing Ron, because I heard you two had only been in school plays before.
Rupert: Yeah, once I was a fish in Noahs Ark. Other than that, this is the biggest thing Ive ever done.
Oprah: I would say!
Audience: Do you have a girlfriend?
Dan: No.
Oprah: He doesn't have a girlfriend, he's only 13!
Audience: Im only 14!
Audience: In Hogwarts, you like school, do you like school in real life?
Emma: I really really like school because I do a lot more sport than I do academic kind of stuff. But yeah, I like school.
Audience:Are you going to continue with the acting business when you've finished with the Harry Potter movies?
Dan: I love acting - it's so amazing and it's such an opportunity to inspire people all over the world - but I'm really interested in directing and writing as well.
Audience: How many more Harry Potter movies are you going to be in?
Dan: We're definitely doing the third one but each one takes 11 months to film so we're not going to have to make that decision for some time.
Audience: Do you get to take home the slugs and gross out your friends?
Rupert: I wish I could but, no, but I really love them because theyre really nice!
Audience: Were you grossed out by the snake scene at all?
Dan: I like snakes!
Audience: Where did the movie take place?
Dan: It was shot all over England - Gloucestershire, Newcastle, Durham and various other places - but the majority of the film was shot at Leavesden Studios, which is just outside London.
Audience: What were your favorite scenes?
Rupert: My favorite scene was the slug scene and the flying car, that was wicked!
Emma: The Gilderoy Lockhart scenes for me!
Audience: How are you alike or different from the characters you play?
Rupert: When I was reading the books I felt I could relate to Ron because both got ginger hair, both like sweets, both dont like school, and the difference is that I like slugs and Ron doesnt.
Emma: Quite a big difference between me and Hermione. Well, I do a lot more sport than academic work, and I hope I have a better fashion sense than she does, andthats about it!

(David Heyman, Producer of the movie was questioned by Oprah. He was sitting in the audience)

Oprah: Where did you find Daniel?
David: We'd been looking for Harry Potter for 9 months and had no luck and we were two months away from filming, so it was a little scary to be making a film called Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone without a Harry and I went to the theatre to unwind and Dan happened to be sitting in the audience.
Oprah: Wow, that is a discovery story. So he happened to be sitting in the audience, and?
David: I was going up for drink at the intermission and I noticed this boy who had these big eyes and a real sense of curiosity and openness and certain qualities which I thought Harry should have. And then this man shouted out "David!" and I turned to him and it was a man called Alan Radcliffe, who I knew, and he introduced himself and then he introduced me to his wife and to his son, Daniel.
Oprah: I heard his parents turned you down at first, right?
David: Yes they did. But during the second half of the play, I was somewhat distracted as I kept on looking behind me down the row at Daniel, trying to assess what he would be like, then tried to find them after the show but they were gone. So I called Alan the following morning and he said "I know we had thought about not doing it but maybe it's kismet and we should consider it so why don't you come and have a cup of tea with him so rather than coming out to audition, Alan wanted me to come and meet Daniel and spend some time with him and get to know him. So Dan and I spent a few hours having tea and talking about WWF and sports and friends and loyalty and things like that.
Oprah: Dan, did you know that they were looking for Harry Potter? Had you ever thought about it?
Dan: I'd been aware of it but I'd never even contemplated it.
Oprah: You're just sitting there in the theatre, minding your own business?
Dan: Yeah, and he's (points at Heyman) turning round and looking at me!
Oprah: That is kismet!
Oprah: Thank you Daniel, Emma, Rupert, thank you so much! The Chamber of Secrets opens November 15th! See ya!
